If you are new to CHA you will find it helpful to know that CHA has a long-standing tradition of giving gifts to each other.
On Monday before the Christmas program classes will have Christmas treats at lunch. Typically one parent from each class signs up to bring in a treat for the entire grade.
On Wednesday morning before the Christmas program, in addition to any homework that gets turned in, it is common for students to leave thank you notes or Christmas cards for each of their tutors, and sometimes a small Christmas gift. While a heart-felt thank you note is the greatest gift a tutor could receive, and that is quite sufficient, it is not uncommon to also give tutors and Admin staff a small gift of some sort, perhaps a gift card, a home-baked treat, or some other yummy goodie or token of appreciation.
Families that sign up for Advent Angel also exchange Christmas ornaments by leaving them outside the auditorium at the start of the program, with the family’s name on it and a note. Sometimes the ornament will have a food gift attached to it, sometimes it is just the ornament. Then after the program those who participated will go and find their family’s gift and take it home with them.
